Where Is The Adra Tunnel?
Exploring the Adra Tunnel Along the KVR:
Nestled along the picturesque KVR trail, the Adra Tunnel is an accessible gem for adventurers and history enthusiasts alike. Whether you're journeying by car or embracing the outdoors on a bike, the tunnel's location offers a delightful escape into nature:
From Penticton: A 40-minute drive (33 km) or a 2-hour bike ride covers the distance to the Adra Tunnel.
From Myra Canyon: Whether you choose to bike or drive, it's a journey of about 48 km, taking approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes by bike.
From Glenfir Parking Lot: A quick 10-minute drive (8 km) or a 40-minute bike ride brings you to the tunnel's entrance.
From Chute Lake: A scenic 16 km bike route, taking around 1 hour and 10 minutes, leads to the historic site.
Each route offers its own unique views and experiences, making the journey to the Adra Tunnel a part of the adventure.
Note: The public should not attempt to enter the tunnel at this time. The area is an active construction site.

Re-opening the Adra Tunnel isn't just about restoring an engineering marvel; it's about unlocking endless possibilities for the Okanagan. This 1,600-foot tunnel holds the promise of connecting the north and south Okanagan, honoring local history, and making the Kettle Valley Railway an even more world-class trail network.
